After taking the beta version of exam 1Z0-238 last summer, I've received my certificate in the mail today. Presumably other beta exam participants are also receiving shiny pieces of paper in the mail from Oracle University. Congratulations to all of the other new "Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Applications Database Administrator Certified Professionals" out there!
I dislike having a post that is 100% blatant horn-tooting, so here are a few useful links for those interested in pursuing the certification:
- The Oracle Certification blog's post announcing the production version of the R12 Install, Patch, and Maintain exam (aka 1Z0-238) provides links to information about the exam, the related certification track, and the Prometric testing website.
- Mohan Dutt, aka the OCP Advisor, recently posted a review of The Release 12 Primer by Solution Beacon LLC. This book provides a great overview of the R12 environment. It is not targeted solely at Apps DBAs; there's a lot of module-specific functional information in addition to the chapters covering technical features. It's all good stuff for an R12 Apps DBA to review, though. If you want to have a big-picture, holistic view of the system you're managing, this book is a good one to have . You can purchase the book here on Lulu.
